MICROWAVE

I am good at all of the overused metaphors,
like swimming pools and super novas.

But that doesn't mean I don't mean it when I say
you are the only high dive I've ever jumped off without ever looking back.

But I am not good at the under used metaphors,
like microwave dinners and the way one sock always gets lost in the wash.

But let me try.

He was a microwave dinner,
Explosive when paired with aluminum foil,
and really only good for watching television with.

And you were never anything like that.
You were the supernova, and there is a reason I am not the first person to use that comparison.
