GRAFFITI

On the streets of Venice my mother cried
over thousand year old villas
covered in hour old graffiti.

But instead I took a photograph.
Because behind every graffiti artist
is a person who just wants to be seen.

If I was a graffiti artist,
I would write "I was here"
on each of your fingertips.

In invisible ink and permanent marker
because I want it to be our secret,
but I want the whole world to know.
